When I chose this topic, it was to pick a side: pro or con. Also, it was about resuscitation where there are scarce resources. I hope that "scarce resources" was not overlooked by anyone who reads my paper.<BR/><BR/>Believe me, I work in a very high tech hospital with a level 3 NICU, and we resuscitate ALL babies at 24 weeks and above. We have the NICU doc and parents speak to each other beforehand about resuscitation if the baby is 23 0/7 wo 23 6/7 weeks gestation (hopefully, before delivery). Babies born at 22 6/7 weeks and below are NOT resuscitated.<BR/><BR/>If we do not know the gestational age, we go by birth weight.
