At Your Cervix: Argumentative Paper - Resuscitation of 24 weekers
I guess I knew that a lot of NICU staff felt this way, it is not the paper that bothered me so much but some of the comments made! I am glad I asked the doctors to save my baby. God is the giver of life, and if it is Gods will, he will take it away. I am so glad that GOD is in control and not these doctors and nurses!

Please understand, the purpose of my paper was that it was meant to be an argumentative paper. When I chose this topic, it was to pick a side: pro or con. Also, it was about resuscitation where there are scarce resources. I hope that "scarce resources" was not overlooked by anyone who reads my paper.
Believe me, I work in a very high tech hospital with a level 3 NICU, and we resuscitate ALL babies at 24 weeks and above. We have the NICU doc and parents speak to each other beforehand about resuscitation if the baby is 23 0/7 wo 23 6/7 weeks gestation (hopefully, before delivery). Babies born at 22 6/7 weeks and below are NOT resuscitated.
If we do not know the gestational age, we go by birth weight. Under 500 gms, no resuscitation. 500 grams and above, vigorous resuscitation.
